Ventilation for Gas Appliances (Clause 6.4)
All gas appliances require adequate ventilation for combustion air and flue gas dispersal:
- Type A appliances (room-sealed/balanced flue) — No additional room ventilation required
- Type B appliances (open-flued) — Permanent ventilation openings required, sized based on appliance input rating
- Unflued appliances — Maximum 10 MJ/h input in a room, openable window required, not in bedrooms or bathrooms
LPG Cylinder Location (Clause 5.11)
- Minimum 1m from any opening (window, door, air intake) below the level of the cylinder relief valve
- Minimum 2m from any drain, pit, or below-ground area
- Not under a building unless specifically designed enclosure
- Protected from vehicle impact if near driveways
